Indexable Inserts

What is Indexable Inserts?

A cutting bit that has multiple cutting edges. Once a cutting edge is excessively worn, it can be indexed to another edge, or the insert can be replaced.
The indexable inserts will be able to turn the use of polygon blade clamping tool in the arbor or cutter body by mechanical means. During machining, when a blade tip blunt blade indexable blade tip, the blade with a blunt will no longer re-grinding. The majority indexable inserts which can turn the blade of the cutter was made from cemented carbide, ceramic, polycrystalline cubic boron nitride or polycrystalline diamond. Between 1949 and 1950, the United States develop the earliest of using mechanical clamping of indexable turning tools, indexable turning tool commodity known as disposable (the throw-away) and began selling in 1954. China has called such a tool as "not re-grinding tool.

The Advantages of Indexable Inserts
Indexable inserts compared with brazed and other mechanical clamping type of tool has the following advantages:

① Avoid the shortcomings of easy to crack when  brazing carbide;
② Indexable inserts was suit to used the carbide blade surface deposition of thin layer of hard material for vapor deposition (titanium carbide, titanium nitride and alumina), in order to improve the cutting performance;
③ Shorting the time of change tool;
④ As the indexable inserts are standardized and centralized production, blade geometry parameters easy chip control stability. Indexable inserts have a very wide range of applications, including various turning, boring, milling, the outer surface of the broach, large-diameter deep hole drilling and drilling nesti
